About

Pushing the boundaries of human consciousness

Hi,

My name is Daniil, and I am about to start my PhD in Houston. My focus is on developing a preclinical model of a biohybrid digitally controlled implant for motor function restoration after peripheral nerve damage.

My goal is to create a Complete Product that integrates with all aspects of human being — physical, mental, and spiritual — to help people become more conscious.

My Worldview

  • I believe in unity of all that there is in the Universe, which is permeated with seeds of consciousness. This Universal Consciousness to me is what people call God.
  • The common pathway for every being, including humans, is becoming more conscious. Along the way, we get to explore and marvel at nature’s beauty, discover its laws through science, create music and art, build meaningful relationships… In other words, enjoy life!

My Most Significant Problems 1

P1: Despite humanity’s advances in technology and social organization, we are driven by emotions and short-term thinking that limit our ability to solve global problems.

P2: Human brains are exponentially outpaced by computers in processing speed, memory, and input/output bandwidth.

  • P2A: Current implantable neural interfaces are wired, mechanically incompatible with host tissue causing cellular damage and chronic immune reactions, and produce low fidelity signal.

P3: Sustainable space colonization is critical for our long-term survival, but it poses extreme physical and mental challenges.

My Missions

M1: Increase human consciousness by helping people achieve physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual self-awareness.

M2: Contribute to advancing brain-computer interface technology for high-bandwidth communication between humans and machines.

  • M2A: Develop a preclinical model of a biohybrid wireless implant for motor function restoration after peripheral nerve damage. 2

My Practice

Yogic philosophy and practice is one of the pillars of my life. It is a highly effective system for taking care of the body, keeping the mind healthy and sharp, exploring the inner self, and becoming more conscious. All of this empowers me to eventually create a positive contribution to the world.

What I Enjoy

Learning

I am a lifetime learner. While in the third year of medical school, I set onto the journey of self-studying various subjects in STEM, starting from mathematical analysis and physics at Milan Polytechnic. This has been my most challenging, yet fun and mind-opening endeavor.

I track my learning progress on this page:

Reading

I aim to read two books per month (and mostly fail to meet this goal). I often surf through books in my digital libraries to inspire my thinking in a certain direction rather than focusing on reading from start to finish.

Some books require a lot of thinking and digesting, like Thinking, Fast and Slow. Occasionally, fiction like Dune goes beyond the imaginary world to deeply resonate with my values and spiritual identity.

Finally, there are various textbooks or encyclopedias through which I browse to get an overview of the field and incorporate it into my world view.

I seek to be a student of history. My goal in reading history is to identify the fundamental currents that drive societies and civilizations. History is written by the winners, and today some governments even re-write history textbooks from scratch. It is a great challenge to find objective, high-quality historical books. My two favourites are Russia: A History by Groffrey Hosking and The Penguin History of the United States of America by Hugh Brogan.

I aim to read (or at least skim through) most sacred books of the world throughout my life. 3

Here are some more books I often recommend to people:

Title Author
Atomic Habits James Clear
Life 3.0 Max Tegmark
